Writing for the Heart. Shooting From the Soul.

I was raised in Illinois, right outside of St. Louis, Missouri. I attended college at Mizzou where I met my husband, Andy. We married, struggled with infertility and, by the grace of God, ended up with two cool kids, Sydney and Ben. They are both older now—teenagers and we struggle to raise them in this chaotic, crazy world filled with screens and temptations. The only success I’ve had in being a mom can really be summed up in one word—Jesus. Honestly, my whole life can be summed up that way.

I talk a lot about Jesus and, more than anything, I love writing about Him. Why? Well because I have tried everything from self-help books, therapy, medicine, constant dialogue and you name it. Nothing works like He does. Through Him I have found peace that is unshakable.

I stayed home with the kids while they were younger, taking family pictures as a side hustle. It grew into a nice little business that remains today. As the kids entered middle school, I was ready to work outside of the home again. You’ll currently find me at their school, working as a Paraeducator. I love it. More than anything, I just love hanging with the kids and encouraging them to embrace the unique beauty with which God created them.

A few years ago I circled back to something I loved all along—writing. I released my first book, a Christian Devotional, “This Feels Like Home—Inspirations for Finding Peace” in May of 2025. That was a really amazing experience, but it wasn’t enough. I still love to write so you’ll find weekly devotions here that will feel like food for your soul. They’ll make you feel the peace that only Jesus can provide. Maybe I’ll write another book—I always have ideas!
